Produce Prescription Program

Healthier Together: Produce Prescription Program

Feeding people facing hunger is about more than simply providing food. It’s about providing wellness, nourishment and strength. That’s why it’s our mission to provide the most nutritious food possible to improve people’s health and well-being.

Our Healthier Together Produce Prescription Program helps partner healthcare patients access fresh fruits and vegetables to improve their health. For this program, eligible participants in Volusia, Jacksonville, and Alachua Counties receive prescriptions from their healthcare providers, which can be redeemed through the local food bank for fresh produce.

Locations and Eligibility:

This program is currently being offered through Feeding Northeast Florida and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. It is only available to individuals enrolled through their physician at participating Healthier Together Program healthcare partners. It is not open to the general public.

If you need general food support to access more fruits and vegetables, our food banks can help. Please visit Find Food Now to locate your county and local food bank for support.

Please note that this program is not medically tailored. For personalized diet-related recommendations, consult your healthcare provider.

Healthier Together: Produce Prescription Program is supported by Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program [grant no. 2022-70422-37751/project accession no. 1028869] from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
